The sluice was constructed in 1828 by the engineer K. Edko. It is located on the 82nd kilometer of the Augustow Canal. The sluice is the only one left in the frontier zone. It forms a part of the border between Belarus and Poland!
A seasonal border post "New Rudovka" is just near the sluice in Belarus, thus, there is no access to the hydrotechnical engineering monument. However, there is free access to the sluice in Poland.
