«Awgust Velo»: arrangement of the new cycling route at Awgustow Canal to begin in 2018
At the third meeting of the Belarusian-Polish working group on the development of the Awgustow Canal, a memorandum of intent was signed to intensify cooperation on the development of cross-border tourist routes on the Polish-Belarusian border. Including the cycling route "Awgust Velo", which will be the continuation of the international cycling route "GREEN VELO" and will join Grodno region.
The memorandum defines the concept of the Awgust Velo project. First of all representatives of the Belarusian-Polish working group will work out the strategy of brand promotion: logo, symbols and marking of the route, choice of firm colors. All these nuances will become an important component of the recognizability and memorability of the brand "Awgust Velo".
The next stage is infrastructure development.
In November, Grodno region and Grodno will host a regular meeting of the Belarusian-Polish working group on the development of the Awgustow Canal. It will discuss the holding next year of promo actions, in which all interested will be able to take part. The occasion for meetings on the Belarusian-Polish border will be the multi-day cycling routes "Mikashuvka - Dabrowka", as well as a bike ride similar to the international trade-union bike ride "Grodno - Druskininkai". The events will become traditional cross-border events and will be held under the brand "Awgust Velo".
